Signs of Spiritual Maturity
We live in a time when the idea of spiritual maturity or "completion" is rarely mentioned or even considered. The majority of believers tend to live their spiritual lives merely biding their time, going from one meeting to another, embracing a set of principles that are the generally accepted doctrines of their particular church or group of churches. They never really grow after the first few months of their spiritual life.
If there are any who are currently seen as being spiritually "progressive," it is those who tend to go to wherever the latest "move of God" is supposed to be occur-ring. Their visits to these meetings often seem to result in some type of physical experience or "manifestation." This is used as an indicator that the individual has bad "more of God." The consequence is that spiritual progress is gauged from outer experiences rather than inner transformation.
