Free love

Free Love (poem)
by Karl Sider

Free Love

The freedom to love yet without being loved
Reflects God's true love from above
This river of love is poured out in His Son
The Cross works to teach us this love

To love as a flow from the throne of His grace
Means mercy and peace will abound
Just only one way life can overcome death
When love can flow free all around

Natural love fails by its need to receive
So easily it can be stalled
The freedom to love yet without being loved
Is just for what we have been called

We're able to love ‘cause He first has loved us
His love fills us up head to toe
The overflow is what we live out each day
Enabling our love to flow

So why be downcast when our friends let us down
It's easy to stoop and react
An eye for an eye is a thing of the past
The church is by love kept intact

To love someone who is not loving you back
Is how Jesus' love comes to us
Forgiveness and grace marks the way to the throne
Let's love in the way God loves us

Do you find that you are living in a condition of a surplus of love or a deficit of love? This makes all the differance! By daily feeding on the word of God, by have the Holy Spirit enlighten your mind to understand it, by living in community with your local church, and in daily serving those around you, God's love begins to fill your soul to the point of overflow. At this point it no longer matters if the one you love is loving you back.
