Remarkable (poem)
by Karl Sider
Remarkable
Dragged along the ocean floor
By currents deep and strong
Pressed down deep by darkened depths
Was tossed and thrashed along
In darkened days of thirst unquenched
I learned a quiet trust
That He that speaks in life and love
Will keep His word - He must
The nature of a death is such
A burial is found
To cover what by natural life
Has failed to stick around
All our strength by natural birth
That we wear like a gown
Will seem, like lead when storm waves rise
And drag us down down down
I've tasted what it's like to breathe
My last breath from my lungs
I've tasted what it's like to have
My heart ripped out with tongs
But what I find remarkable
Is when I bowed my face
It was not death that filled my eyes
But His pure glorious face
