The Line (poem)
by Karl Sider
The Line
Drawing a line in the sand
Determining I will stand
Finding the masses unwilling to move
But raising a willing hand
Drawing a line in the sand
Finding the moment at hand
Willing to stand and be counted for Christ
Deciding to fight for the land
Drawing a line in the sand
Leaving the past behind
Reckoning life that rises from death
Will overcome when in the grind
Drawing a line in the sand
Worshipping without reserve
Willing to live not for my own gain
Erecting an altar with nerve
Drawing a line in the sand
Not minding if others may laugh
But seeing the need to overcome death
Will slay by the sword the riff raff
Drawing a line in the sand
Skillfully parting my lips
Carefully aiming God's sharp written word
And sinking the enemies' ships
Drawing a line in the sand
Not minding to lay down my life
For not till I die to all my quaint prides
Will I find my path through this strife
Drawing a line in the sand
Willing to cross all alone
Knowing that He that is in me has won
And already sits on His throne
Drawing a line in the sand
Don't passively sit on your butt
The banner is lifted we must move ahead
I'm going to give all I've got
Drawing a line in the sand
Willing to stick my neck out
Recognizing that a testimony
Is needed to put darkness out
Drawing a line the sand
Redeeming the time that's at hand
A new day is dawning upon this dark land
Let's rise to the challenge and stand
