You've written me, now play me

"You've Written Me, Now Play Me"
by Karl Sider

"You've Written Me, Now Play Me"

I'm laying dark years of neglect aside
Discovering fresh who I am inside

And fearing the schemes of the devil intact
I'm taking my stand by God's truth and fact

But sensing God's call on a tender young boy
The devil moved in to spoil, destroy

He schemed and he plotted to twist and pervert
The vessel of God's call he worked to hurt

He schemed and he plotted a sabotage
To orchestrate death in a camouflage

He stands against God as an idiot fool
For God is in charge and I am His tool

The small boy was twisted, distracted off course
The yearning of life though has burned it's own course

God sovereignly chooses in truth and in grace
I humbly acknowledge the look on His face

Releasing me from the dark bondage of fears
I'm growing in grace as a breakthrough appears

The small boy no longer is teased and attacked
For Christ now embraces him, giving what lacked

Lord increase my faith to hold close as a shield
To exercise life as Your word I wield

Your truth ‘round my waist keeps my trousers in place
To keep me in action and shame from my face

The shoes that I wear are the ones You have worn
The love you lived out when Your body was torn

My thoughts keep within the bounds You have set
Your full full salvation my sure hope to get

Lord be a strong guard against my own good
My rightness is You, I have understood

I choose to say yes to Your predestined call
I choose to detach, to surrender all

You've used death to fine-tune each musical note
Now play me according to notes You have wrote
